Description:

Works with families, school districts, medical and community providers to ensure that youth with disabilities receive appropriate and effective educational services and supports.

 


Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Special Education, Education or related field preferred and one year experience providing educational services, educational advocacy, educational consulting or other advocacy services to youth with disabilities and their families required. Bachelor's Degree considered with two years of required experience.

                     Requirements

  • The ability to travel extensively throughout Monroe County, including private homes, on a regular basis; occasional travel to surrounding counties.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.

                     Other Competencies

  • Working knowledge of special education law and community resources for students with learning disabilities/developmental disabilities required.
  • Ability to provide professional, calm direction and support in tense, emotional situations and/or situations in which multiple parties have varying agendas and desired outcomes required.
  • Effective listening skills required.

Hours:

Per Diem and Part Time

Compensation $15 to $20 per hour depending on experience
