Description:
Functions as the LDA representative providing information and referral to individuals seeking knowledge of LDA services and/or community resources primarily for individuals with learning disabilities. Works with community members to assess their needs and provides hands on assistance to link them to appropriate LDA or community resources. Represents LDA at community events to provide agency information and community referral services.
Compensation: $26,000 - $31.977 depending upon experience.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Two years experience working with individuals and families with learning disabilities required.
- Experience as a Service Coordinator, Vocational Counselor, Crisis Intervention Counselor and / or Information Referral Specialist preferred.
- Experience with VESID, OMRDD, OMH and / or DSS services required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field desired.
- Outreach and presentation experience desired.
Requirements:
- Required to do outreach, travel to events, conferences and appointments as needed.
- Required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Ability to sit at a desk for long periods using the telephone and / or computer.
Other Competencies:
- Ability to gather and discern information, multi-task, and process information accurately and quickly required.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office required.
- Ability to search the internet for information preferred.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service, which includes but not limited to, good listening skills, pleasant disposition and patience required.
- Knowledge of Rochester and the surrounding area community resources/services preferred.
Hours:
Full time - approximately 40 hours per week
