A district based school committee that decides the special education needs and services for students ages 5-21. Members include parent(s) of the student, regular education teacher if the child is or may be participating in regular education, special education teacher of the child, district representative serving as the committee chairperson, an individual that can interpret the evaluation results and how they effect instruction,school psychologist, parent member, and other people that have knowledge or expertise regarding the child.
