LDA Announces Leadership Appointments


Rochester, NY - LDA Life and Learning Services is pleased to announce a recent reorganization to align its services and its corresponding support structures in order to position its resources to meet its goals for the future. Colin Garwood, Executive Director, states, “this reorganization will better position the agency as it moves forward with the person-centered planning model of providing services.” LDA Life and Learning Services is pleased to announce the following leadership appointments;

Amanda Hartman has been appointed as Deputy Executive Director. Hartman has been with the agency for four years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from SUNY Brockport and will complete her MPA in December 2009. Hartman’s extensive experience and expertise are in the areas of employment, day, residential and individualized services, and program development. She resides in Irondequoit.

Annie Wells has accepted the position of Individualized Services Director. Wells brings 25 years of experience at ARC of Monroe County. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Fredonia. Her expertise is in the areas of MSC, day and residential habilitation, clinical services and self-directed services. She is also a start-up broker. Wells resides in Rochester.

Lisa Bayer has been appointed as Education Services Director. Bayer brings over 20 years experience in the field to this position, the last 15 of which were at LDA. Her areas of expertise include education, employment support, community and day habilitation services in a number of agencies in Monroe County. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nazareth College of Rochester. Bayer resides in Brighton.

Ida Jones has been appointed as Human Resources Director. Jones has been involved with LDA for one year. She initially served part-time in a consultant capacity through her personal business, Ida Jones Consulting Inc. to provide expertise in the restructuring of the Human Resources Department. Jones brings a wealth of human resource and training to her position as Director. She resides in Greece.

Craig Jones was appointed as Residential Services Director. Jones has been with the agency’s Residential Services in a variety of capacities for 7 years. His most recent position was Director of Supervised IRA Services. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from RIT. Jones resides in Webster.

Stacy Russell was appointed as Employment Services Director overseeing the Employment Support Service. She has been with LDA for 9 years most recently as Coordinator of Supported Employment. Russell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Health Science from SUNY Brockport and is a certified alcohol and substance abuse counselor. She resides in Irondequoit.

Marilyn Kraitsik, MS Ed, LMHC has accepted the position of Clinical Services Director. Kraitsik brings many years of clinical service experience working at community mental health providers most recently at Unity Hospital. For the past year and a half, she served as an Employment Counselor at LDA. Kraitsik resides in Penfield.

Kim Segal has been appointed as Education Services Coordinator. Segal has been with LDA for 13 years starting her employment as an educational advocate, then organizing summer programs, coordinating the computer lab and organizing special events and conferences as well as directing the educational advocacy services. Segal holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Maryland College with a dual major in psychology and elementary education. She resides in Penfield.

Bonnie Smith accepted the position of Community Habilitation Services Coordinator. Smith began her association with LDA as a volunteer for AmeriCorps. She has been employed in a variety of positions for the past six years, most recently as Coordinator of Community Based Residential Services. Smith holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and a Master’s in Social Science from Binghamton University. She resides at North Winton Village in Rochester.

Patty Madden, Information & Referral Specialist has accepted the position of Intake Specialist handling intake for all services within the agency. She has been with LDA for one year and has held a variety of positions in the field. Madden received her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from SUNY Geneseo, and she resides in Rochester.
