News & Events: Unlocking Each Student's Potential Conference

Each year the Educational Services Department coordinates a conference with a focus on understanding and educating students with disabilities. This year, LDA was fortunate to secure Dr. Russell Barkley, one of the leading researchers in the field of ADHD and Executive Functioning. Dr. Barkley delivered an information-packed five-hour program aimed at giving attendees a deeper understanding of the nature of ADHD as it pertains to the executive functions and self-regulation. With more than 200 people attending, Dr. Barkley kept the audience engaged and sacrificed his break time to answer participant questions. The majority of the audience stayed until the end of the program, which is unusual, especially since it was a warm, sunny Friday.
