How LDA Can Help You

Educational Consulting

The complex world of education for the parent of a struggling learner can be confusing and often frustrating. Parents want what is best for their children, but are often unsure of what is needed and whether their children are getting the services and support they require.

LDA's Educational Consultants work with families of children pre-school-aged through college with diagnosed or undiagnosed disabilities who require assistance navigating the educational system.

Our Educational Consultants work with families of preschool and school-aged children to:
  • Complete a comprehensive review of academic and cognitive testing to assess the student's learning strengths and needs.
  • Work with families to understand education law, regulations and process.
  • Work in partnership with families and schools to ensure appropriate services are delivered.
  • Attend Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and other school meetings as requested by the family.
  • Help teachers and parents identify appropriate instructional strategies to address the response to intervention legislation.
Our Educational Consultants assist college students with learning disabilities and their families to:
  • Access needed supports and resources in college
  • Increase self-advocacy skills
  • Help identify colleges/universities that have programs and services that will meet the student's needs.
Educational consulting is a fee-based service. Please call 263-3323 and ask for Project Connect. Project Connect can provide you with additional information and help you access the service.
